It’s Huge — er, Hugh — Jackman, getting a lift at the gym.
Big muscles, huge ego. On Monday, Hugh Jackman posted a photo from his weekend workout where he dead-lifted 410 pounds, which, according to the song and dance man, makes him part of the exclusive “1,000 Pound Club” of tough guys whose combined weight total for dead lifts, squats and bench presses adds up to half a ton. But several longtime David Barton Gym members wish Jackman, 46, would take his one-man show on the road. The gym “is being overrun by a loud-ass company called ‘Dog Pound With Hugh Jackman,’ ” says one West Village gym rat. “Locals that go every day aren’t thrilled — including me!”
Our sweaty source says Jackman’s self-promotion is coming at the cost of regular folks who want to work out in privacy without gawking fans and photographers watching them come and go. “Paparazzi are outside photographing, too!” our spy said. Frustrated exercisers might want to think twice before getting tough with Aussie legend, though. In addition to his 410-pound dead lift, Jackman claims to have squatted 355 and bench-pressed 235 during the three-hour workout that put him in the 1,000 Pound Club. He did all of this while wearing a black and white T-shirt that read “#dogpound.”
