Wake up, Sleepy heads: Summer is over, which means Sleepy Hollow is about to kick off its second season of supernatural drama. In the premiere (Monday, 9 p.m., Fox), we will find: Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) buried alive in a coffin; Abbie (Nicole Beharie) stranded in purgatory; Katrina (Katia Winter) held captive by He Without Head; Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) in the hands of the Hessians; and Henry/Jeremy (John Noble) preparing for war.

But this episode is also all about the Benjamin. As in Franklin. History buffs know that Ben Franklin was often in the buff, and enjoyed taking “air baths.” Turns out, Franklin (played by guest-star Timothy Busfield) was Crane’s mentor—and he knew all about the epic battle between good and evil. Crane’s flashbacks will reveal, in a bit of Sleepy Hollow “Twistory” that Franklin wasn’t just trying to harness electricity from lightning by flying a kite with a key. In fact, the key could actually unlock something of greater importance. Check out this exclusive clip from the season premiere and theorize away.
