The Boss is ready for his close up. E Street Band fans stopping to peek at the taping of the Netflix show “Lilyhammer” (which stars longtime Bruce Springsteen guitarist Steven Van Zandt) were surprised to see Springsteen dressed to the nines for a scene in the show’s season finale. While Springsteen made a hilarious cameo in the 2000 movie “High Fidelity,” this marks the first time he’ll portray a character. Bruce is rumored to be playing a mortuary owner.
DRINK TO SNOW LEOPARDS’ HEALTH
Save the world by getting drunk! Snow Leopard vodka is popping up in Manhattan clubs, billing itself as “the world’s first ethical vodka” because the 40%-alcohol liquor donates 15% of its profits to save endangered snow leopards from extinction. If only the dodo bird could have had friends in the liquor biz. The company’s mission statement says it hopes to take the snow leopard off the endangered species list within a generation.
RONSON GIVES 39 A SPIN
Happy birthday, Mark Ronson. The Grammy-winning producer celebrated his 39th in style Wednesday by deejaying Esquire’s 10th anniversary party for the combination of fashion director Nick Sullivan and senior fashion editor Wendell Brown. Rather than receive presents, Ronson did all the giving by playing two new songs off his upcoming album for the fashionista crowd.
ROSARIO’S HOT FASHION
Aye-aye-aye! Backstage at a fashion show by Spanish design house Desigual, we asked Rosario Dawson when she felt most confident. The “Sin City” star quickly replied, “After sex.” She then took a moment to reconsider and told us, “Before sex, and during sex, too!” No doubt confidence comes easily when you look like Rosario Dawson. As does sex, apparently. As if Dawson’s sultry presence wasn’t enough, Victoria’s Secret hottie Adriana Lima was also at the show.
BIG BANKS INTEREST
Los Angeles-based songbird Banks will be the special guest performer at the Tuesday night opening of designer Phillip Lim’s new flagship store on Great Jones Street. The “Warm Water” singer is in town to perform a full concert at Rough Trade on Tuesday before playing a Sept. 20 show at Terminal 5. The private show falls smack in the middle of Fashion Week, where it’ll no doubt be attended by people almost as pretty as Banks herself.
Drama ensued at the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Marchese capsule collection launch when co-host Georgina Chapman — aka Mrs. Harvey Weinstein — realized part of her engagement ring had fallen off. Dozens of fashionistas including Jamie Chung crawled around searching for the baubles, even calling in workers to do some drilling when a helper mistakenly thought she saw the gems in a deep crevice in the cement. The story ended on a happy note when Chapman’s assistant called to let her know the missing sparklers were found in her office.
SHE’S GOT THE LOOK
Adriana Lima works it while strutting in the Desigual show during Fashion Week.
